  • Jeremy Norton  - Lead Pastor / Elder

    Jeremy began serving in 2013 as Associate Pastor of Community Life & Equipping. In 2016, Jeremy transitioned to Lead Pastor. He's passionate about anything and everything, Leadership. He believes Outreach is a crucial component of the local church, seeing needs met with the goal of sharing the Gospel. In his off time, Jeremy enjoys writing, social media, fishing, hunting, playing soccer and spending time in the outdoors with his wife Nicole, and three boys. As Lead Pastor, Jeremy also serves on our team of Elders.

  • Mark Shore  - Elder / Board Chair

    Originally from the Vancouver area, Mark came to Whitehorse in the spring of 1979 and shortly thereafter started attending Whitehorse Baptist, now known as Mountainview Church. He met his wife Loretta at Youth Group and they married in the fall of 1981. They raised 3 children in Whitehorse and are pleased to be grandparents of 2 more. Mark has been involved in the church over the years, serving in various areas such as Youth, Elders and the Board. He is now retired and enjoys spending time with family and riding his motorcycle whenever possible. His desire is to promote unity by serving others and encouraging personal commitment to Jesus and His church.

  • Adam Lindsay - Elder / Board Director

    Adam’s first taste of the Yukon was in the late 90’s when he was part of a volunteer team that assisted with the program operations of Hidden Lakes Bible Camp near Watson Lake. Over the years he visited the Yukon and Alaska on a number of occasions and the more he visited the more he wanted to call the north home. In 2014 he moved from southern BC to Whitehorse and started attending Mountainview Church in early 2015. Adam and his wife, Andrea, have two young daughters who keep them on their toes at home and often serve as a reminder of how God views us, His children, with never-ending love and grace. 

  • Phil Willoughby - Board Vice Chair

    Phil loves Jesus and people. One of his passions is helping people connect with God through music. Phil believes that music is one of the ways that can bring people closer to God. He has been playing and leading worship for nearly 20 years. In 2020, after serving as Worship Director, Phil transitioned to serve in Board leadership as our Vice Chair.

  • Esther McNeill - Board Secretary

    Esther (and her husband, Bob) travelled to the Yukon in 1968 to experience the land of the midnight sun. On their first Sunday in Whitehorse, they visited the blue-roofed Whitehorse Baptist-Church (now known as Mountainview Church). It felt like home—friendly and welcoming, and gospel-focused. Over the years, Esther has served in many in ministry areas including  Marsh Lake Bible Camp, Children’s and Women’s ministries, Care & Hospitality, Library and Missions, and several terms on the Board. Leisure time interests include family time, reading a good book, writing short stories, scrap-booking, and sunny days at the cabin on Marsh Lake.

  • Sarah Geary - Board Treasurer

    Sarah and her family moved to the Yukon in September 2019 and have attended Mountainview Church since then. It didn’t take long for both to feel like home, and she is excited to be both a member of the church and serving on the board as Treasurer. Sarah has a BA in Business & Accounting from Briercrest College and has completed numerous courses through CPA Canada. She currently owns a business in Whitehorse and loves building relationships with people in the community. Sarah enjoys family life with her husband and two kids. She loves the outdoors and appreciates every season in the north.

  • Adam Barrett - Board Director

    Adam has lived in the Yukon since August 2017. He has been an active member at Mountainview church serving as a staff member for the first year and a half, and now in various volunteer positions since then. He enjoys both watching and playing sports and other outdoor activities in his free time.

  • Chanhoi Kim - Board Director

    Originally from Toronto, Ontario, Chan came to Whitehorse in 2016 and started attending Mountainview church ever since. He was born and raised in a Christian household and developed his faith during his university days. Chan has been serving on the music team and is currently participating in the elder mentorship program at Mountainview Church. He and his wife Megan enjoy living in Whitehorse now and are trying to be more outdoorsy.

  • Cornelia Brenner - Office Manager / Pastoral Assistant / Knowledge Director

    Cornelia has been attending Mountainview since 2001. She loves serving in her role as Office Manager / Pastoral Assistant. Cornelia has served in various ministries over the years and is currently leading the Knowledge Ministry. In her free time, you will find Cornelia outdoors, enjoying canoeing, camping, hiking or spending time at their cabin with her husband and two sons.

  • Aaron Mones - Facilities Director

    Aaron is a born and raised Yukoner who recently ventured to Alberta for a few years, but felt a calling to come back to Whitehorse. He gave his life to Jesus in 2020 and since then has become a member of Mountainview Church. He very much enjoys getting involved in multiple ways and recently joined our staff team, overseeing facility maintenance. In his downtime Aaron enjoys music, reading, history, and singing as long there aren’t too many people listening.

  • Megan Klassen - Children's Direcotr

    Originally from Washington State, Megan met her college sweetheart and now husband, Derek, at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Losing in a coin toss, Megan immigrated to Canada and has lived in Whitehorse since May 2012. Megan now joins us as the Director of Children’s Ministry. She is excited as she feels she has been called to try and impress the love of Jesus on children. Derek and Megan have 3 young boys. She loves riding horses, fishing, hunting, and any outdoor adventure with her family that comes her way.  

  • Alison Ott - Junior Youth Director

    Born and raised in Montreal, Québec into a Christian family. Alison made a decision early in life to follow Jesus, understanding His love for her. In 1988 Alison moved to Igloolik, Nunavut, where she lived for 10 years, before she and her family moved to the Yukon in 1998. Alison has been at Mountainview Church for the last 15 years, serving as the Outreach Ministry Director, then transitioned to Jr. Youth Director. Alison sees the importance of creating a firm Christian foundation for young people heading into their teenage years. And she likes to have fun and be creative!

  • Elizabeth Istchenko - Music Director

    Elizabeth was born and raised near the small town of Oak Lake, Manitoba. She was born into large Christian family and accepted Christ at a young age. Elizabeth moved to Whitehorse in May of 2019 and started attending Mountainview Church, where she met her husband Elijah, who also serves in ministry leadership. She loves using music to bring glory to God and seeing how He uses it to bring people together!

  • Toan (Andy) Nguyen - Sound & Media Tech

    Andy was born and raised in Vietnam, and moved to Canada 6 years ago. Andy accepted Christ in 2019 after surviving a serious car accident, realizing that his life is ultimately in Christ's hand. Soon after, he joined the Mountainview Church Team, as our Sound & Media Technician. In his spare time, Andy enjoys reading books, listening to music, and meditating.

  • Bryan Walter - Technology Director

    Bryan became Christian in 2009 after being invited out to church by a friend from school and realized his need for Jesus. He moved from the lower mainland, BC to Yellowknife for an aircraft maintenance position, where he remained for 5 years. It was here that he became interested in sound, mixing Sunday morning worship on a small analogue soundboard at his local church. Bryan is now settled in Whitehorse with his wife Esther and son Silas. After a big learning curve in the move to launch church online, his skill-set has expanded and he currently leads the Tech Ministry here at Mountainview.
